Dr. Roman Meda graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ivano-Frankivsk Medical University in Ukraine in 2003 where he received his MD degree. After completing a residency program in Ophthalmology he worked as a general ophthalmologist at the Regional Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk.
In 2010 Dr. Meda moved to Canada where he worked as a clinical research assistant and went on to obtain a Master's degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Montreal in glaucoma treatment. In 2018, after completing the Optometry Bridging Program at the School of Optometry at the University of Montreal he started working as an optometrist in the Montreal area. In 2019, Dr. Meda became the owner of the Rive-Sud Optometry Center with the aim of continuing the decades long tradition of providing the best service to the clinic's patients. While he continues to practice there part time, we are fortunate to have Dr. Meda on our team currently. His wife, an ophthalmologist herself, is currently completing a fellowship in glaucoma in Kingston.
Dr. Meda has extensive accomplishments in private practice, in research and in scientific publications. He is happy to provide optometric care in English, French, Ukranian, Russian and Polish. As a recent Kingston resident and father of three, Dr. Meda has enjoyed hiking with his family at Lemoine Point Conservation Area, Foley Mountain Conservation Area and Napanee Conservation Park.
